Andrew Wiggins, a barometer of the Timberwolves successes and misfortunes(more of the latter lately, let's be honest) has continued to grow every year throughout his three in the league so far.
Wiggins scoring has increased from 16.9 to 20.7 and again jumping over a field goal per game higher this year at 23.6, the true stat measuring his scoring improvement is the efficiency, which has never regressed through his time as a Wolf, while also adding a league average shot from behind the arc last year (35.6%) which makes him all the more dangerous.
The rest of his game as we know is unpolished, but not a complete write off by any means. Although he did become a better drive and kick passer throughout the year, his assists numbers remained low and his vision can become tunnelled at times.
Rebounding is the area that he has really struggled with, his height and extreme athleticism give him the tools to be an effective rebounder.
Wiggins' light frame and at times, lack of effort prevent him from reaching his full potential on the boards for the moment, a weakness that a move to shooting guard may help mask.
With the addition of Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins' season becomes not only filled with expectations to be that pivotal 3rd option on a contending team, but also a pressure lifted as he can now guard the worst wing on the floor and have the worst wing defender guarding him.
A huge bonus on both ends for Maple Jordan, here's hoping he can make the most of it.
